In the Press: EU proposes quota system for migrant resettlement

A newly unveiled EU quota system will see member states resettling a collective 20,000 migrants over the next two years. Malta will be expected to resettle 138 migrants, one of the lowest quotas, while Germany will take on the largest share of 3,684 migrants.

Farmers who own land in Zonqor have called on the government to spare their agricultural land and use the Jerma Hotel as an alternative site to the planned American university. The farm land is currently leased from the government and farmers and their families depend on it for their livelihoods.
