Marceline Naudi elected member of GREVIO
Head of Gender Studies Department at the University of Malta Marceline Naudi has been elected as a member of the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence
The Malta Confederation of Women’s Organisations (MCWO) has congratulated Marceline Naudi upon her election as a member of GREVIO, (the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence).
In a press release the MCWO said that the election took place during the 1st meeting of the Committee of the Parties to the Istanbul Convention held in Strasbourg on Monday 4th May.
Naudi, who is Head of the Department of Gender Studies at the University of Malta, has a long standing background in issues of gender equality and especially violence against women.
She represented Malta at the Council of Europe ad Hoc Committee on Violence against women and Domestic violence (CAHVIO) which drafted the Istanbul Convention and she is a member of the Women’s Study Group as well as a representative of the MCWO on the European Women’s Lobby Observatory on Violence against Women.
The Confederation is an umbrella organisation that represents 13 local member organisations. The MCWO is a full member of the Brussels based European Women’s Lobby.
