AFM rescue French Fisherman

The Armed Forces of Malta have rescued a French sailor earlier this morning.

The AFM operations centre was notified that a crew member onboard a French fishing vessel required urgent medical attention. The operations centre immediately dispatched an Alouette III helicopter to assist the middle aged French man, who was sailing some fifty nautical miles South West of Malta.

Soon after, the AFM aircrew located the vessel and winched the man aboard the rotary wing aircraft and proceeded towards St. Luke’s helipad where an awaiting ambulance transferred the patient to Mater Dei hospital.
