American university’s heads of agreement ‘to be published in due course’

Nationalist MP Marthese Portelli asks government to publish heads of agreement signed with Sadeen Group in different parliamentary questions

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Economy Minister Chris Cardona and Education Minister Evarist Bartolo said that the heads of agreement signed with Sadeen Group will be published “at the opportune monument”.

The three were replying to questions raised by Nationalist MP Marthese Portelli.

The government signed an agreement with investor Hani Salah, as CEO and Chairman of the Sadeen Group, to officially approve the American university.

The new university is expected to cater for 4,000 students, and it has already submitted some of its university credits for accreditation despite its pending planning application. The courses include business administration, accounting, finance, graphic design and animation, game development, and computer science, with another 60 courses still in the pipeline.

The project however faces criticism over government’s choice of Zonqor Point for the development of the campus. The original proposals was for the government to regale Sadeen Group with 90,000 square metres of pristine land
