Updated | Body recovered from Lapsi identified as missing woman

The young woman whose body was recovered from the sea near Lapsi early Sunday morning was identified as that of 27-year-old Ruth Attard who had previously been reported as missing.

Attard was reported missing on 5 June, at Wied iz-Zurrieq.

Members of the AFM recovered the body Lapsi earlier this morning. The body was taken to the Maritime Squadron’s base at Haywharf  on board a rescue launch at around 0735 AM, before being transported to Mater Dei Hospital.

The police have ruled out foul play.
