New parliament building contractors paid €39 million so far

€23 million paid in connection to the City Gate project and services costs

Contractors involved in the construction of the new parliamentary building designed by Renzo Piano have so far been paid €38,829,049, Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi informed parliament.

In reply to a question raised by backbencher Deo Debattista, Mizzi said that €22,588,455 had been paid in connection with the whole City Gate project. The expenses included services costs, the open air theatre and the surroundings as stipulated in the tender document.

The cost includes consultancy fees, logistics, security, tests and management of waste generated through the construction of the project.
