In the Press: Gaffarena benefitted from breach of law

Land in Qormi transferred to Mark Gaffarena as part of a controversial expropriation deal had its value reduced by 90% by government architects because of an "illegal" entertainment venue, known as Tac-Cavett, that he himself was responsible for.

Malta Developers' President Sandro Chetcuti and construction magnate Charles Polidano tried to buy a plot of land mines in Zonqor eight years ago. Both insist that their plans had nothing to do with the American University of Malta project.

The Opposition have called on the government to instantly publish the Heads of Agreement it had signed with Sadeen Group through which the latter will construct and run a private university.


L-Orizzont
The Central Bank has predicted that Malta's economy will grow by 3.6% this year. Back in December, the Bank had predicted that the economy will only grow by 2.8%.
