President in appeal for action against court delays
Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca warns that rehabilitated drug abusers have problems finding a job due to their police conduct sheets
President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca appealed to the authorities to take action against court delays.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony for people who had completed a drug rehabilitation course at San Blas, Coleiro Preca said that rehabilitated drug abusers should not be made to suffer for their past abuses as a result of court delays.
She also warned that rehabilitated drug abusers have difficulties finding jobs due to their police conduct sheets and urged employers not to fear giving opportunities to rehabilitated drug abusers.
She praised the graduates from the Caritas programme for “making a big decision that will ultimately help both themselves and society.”
