Michelle Muscat, wife of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is expected to complete her charity swim, from Gozo to Malta, shortly.

Mrs. Muscat braved the increasingly choppy seas, as well as physical exhaustion, in the swim, which she undertook to raise funds for the Marigold Foundation and the Malta Special Olympics team. She is understood to have been training for several months, in preparation for the endeavour.

She had been shadowed by an AFM search and resuce launch for a portion of the crossing.

The Marigold Foundation's purpose is to raise awareness of the challenges faced society relating to  social behaviour, health issues, special needs and education.

Donations to the foundation can be made via BOV mobile at 79639556 or BOV account 40023325450
