[WATCH] Libyan Prime Minister in Malta for talks with Muscat
Internationally recognised Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni to meet Maltese counterpart in Valletta
Libya’s internationally recognised Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni will this afternoon land in Malta in a fleeting visit in which he is expected to meet Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
The Libyan deputy prime minister and the education, economy, employment and home affairs ministers will accompany al-Thinni.
The visit to Malta comes ahead of talks for a national unity government planned for tomorrow in Morocoo.
UN envoy Bernardino Leon said he hoped Libya’s rival parliaments would endorse his proposals.
"After all these nine months of work we just have two, three issues and this is what the parties are going to discuss tomorrow and after tomorrow," Leon told a news conference on Monday.
"The idea is to be back on Wednesday and to have our next meeting on Thursday. And on Thursday we will try to initialise the agreement."
