Almost half of damage compensation requests turned down by Enemalta
Enemalta received 347 requests for compensation for damages sustained as a result of power cuts

Almost half of the requests for compensation for damages caused by power cuts were turned down by Enemalta, a parliamentary question has revealed.
In a question raised by shadow energy minister Marthese Portelli, Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi confirmed that Enemalta received a total of 347 compensation requests between March 2013 and May 2015.
134 applications were found to be justified while 16 others were withdrawn by the client before the cases were investigated. 19 others are being processed.
