UHM requests cost of living adjustments for government employees

The workers union (UHM) today requested, on behalf of workers in the public sector, for basic wages to be adjusted to incorporate cost of living changes between 2005 and 2010.

The UHM proposed that until a final collective agreement is agreed, all low income employees be given an adjustment in their basic salaries to reflect the impact of cost of living for the last five years (2005-2010).

The request was made during a meeting at Castille this morning regarding a collective agreement for workers in the Public sector.

The civil service administration promised UHM that it will officially reply to the proposal during the next meeting scheduled for November 4.
