Transport Malta figures show that last year, bus passenger numbers exceeded 40 million for the first time in 25 years. The annual report revealed that the buses carried some 43.7 million passengers during that same year, which marks nearly an 11% increase over 2013.

Mere weeks after resurfacing works to place granite tiling in Pjazza Savina in Rabat Gozo was completed, some of the tiles were removed again to prepare for the local feast. The paper reports that the ‘Ljun Band club’ always mounts its ground fireworks in the area using poles which are drilled in the ground. The decision goes against a declaration made by Rabat mayor Samuel Azzopardi who had said the new poles would be placed in concrete slabs rather than holes in the ground.
