Youth critical after bar fight in Marsalforn. Police take suspect into custody

Police arrested a man from Nadur last night following investigations into a mysterious case where another man was taken to hospital with serious wounds to his head.

MaltaToday is informed that a 23 year-old man from Nadur drove home with a smashed beer bottle lodged into his skull and collapsed soon after a close relative of his went to see what was wrong with him.

While the young man was immediately transferred to Mater Dei Hospital and found to be in a critical condition, police established that the injured man was involved in a bar fight in Marsalforn.

Investigations have led to the arrest of a man, also from Nadur.

A Magisterial inquiry is underway led by Magistrate Paul Coppini.
