Government whip Godfrey Farrugia in London for surgery

Government whip Godfrey Farrugia has announced that he is in London ahead of his surgical intervention as the 15th  September. His partner, Labour -backbencher Marlene Farrugia, is by his side.

On Facebook earlier last month, Farrugia had announced that he had been diagnosed with “aggressive cancer of the prostate, which requires radical surgery or radiotherapy.”

In a brief update posted to Facebook last night, Farrugia said that he is optimistic about the operation, which he described as major and delicate. The surgery will be robot-assisted.
