FOR.U.M requests meeting with Prime Minister over exclusion from confederations

Forum Unions Maltin requests urgent meeting with Prime Minister Joseph Muscatdue to exclusion from the European Social Committee, the Occupational Health and Security Authority (OHSA) and the Gozo Regional Committee

The Forum Unions Maltin (FOR.U.M.) has requested an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat after it expressed its disappointment over a number of appointments for local confederations representatives.

“An example of this is the government’s decision to exclude FOR.U.M from the European Social Committee, the Occupational Health and Security Authority (OHSA) and the Gozo Regional Committee,” a statement issued by the forum reads.

It adds that FOR.U.M is the only federation to be excluded from the Gozo Regional committee and adds that the twelve unions that form FOR.U.M, represent professionals from the education, health, energy and finance sectors, as well as Air Malta and the planning authority among others.

“The federation cannot understand why the government is treating these professionals so unjustly, regardless of their contribution to society,” the statement adds, explaining that it viewed the situation as unacceptable.
