Benna milk recalled due to 'particular taste'

Tests carried out on the milk provided by supplier reveal there are no health hazards.

As a precautionary measure, the Malta Dairy Products Ltd is calling on consumers to return a number of cartons of milk to the shop from where the product was bought, so that it can be exchanged. 

"This is being done as a particular taste was identified in one of the Company’s supplier’s milk during various routine tests carried out by the company," the company said in a statement.

The tests carried out on the milk provided by this supplier, have revealed there are no health hazards.

"The Malta Dairy Products wishes to apologise for the inconvenience this incident could have caused and once again would like to reassure consumers that the milk has no health hazards."

The cartons of milk in question have the following batch codes:

Milk 2.5% fat 1Litre (Blue carton) with this batch code;

LZ2461500 to LZ2461700 – Date of Expiry WED 09/09

LX2461500 to LX2461700 – Date of Expiry WED 09/09

LZ2470600 to LZ2470810 – Date of Expiry WED 09/09

Skimmed Milk 1 Litre (Green carton) with this batch code;
