In the Press: Burmarrad site transfer 'legally irregular'

The Burmarrad site to be used for a new commercial development is bound to be used for agricultural purposes up until 2063, according to the emphyteusis in place when the public land was given to the Farmers' Wine Cooperative in 1965. The transfer of said land is therefore "legally irregular'', legal experts say.

The National Oil Corporation in Libya has made it clear that Malta's two-year-old agreement with the country. allowing the island to buy oil and fuel at preferential rates, still stands.

A former Labour MEP candidate raised eyebrows with a Facebook comment suggesting that armies on Europe's borders should 'shoot to kill', in response to the growing migration crisis. Sharon Ellul Bonici later backtracked, saying that she was only referring to those attempting to enter the EU illegally or those who pose security threats.
