AD members visit students during Freshers’ Week
Student organisations living proof of students’ crave for knowledge
Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Arnold Cassola and secretary general Ralph Cassar yesterday visited Freshers’ Week at the University of Malta.
Cassola welcomed the presence of numerous student organisations which not only benefited the university itself but also the Maltese society in general.
The contribution of Maltese students to society in the field of research and innovation was witnessed last week during the Science in the City activities.
“Today, the multi-faceted interests of the student organisations here present are living proof of students' crave for knowledge, of their intent of bettering their analytical skills and of furthering the basic values of life, which are necessary to counterbalance the general urge for crass materialism, which today's society promotes,” Cassola said.
The University of Malta began its new academic year this week, with over 3,700 new students – an increase of more than 250 students when compared to last academic year.
The total university student population stands at 11,737.
