National Forum for the Maltese language on 7th November

The academy for the Maltese language has reminded that the National Forum for the Maltese language is to be held on the 7th November, to better explore the current needs of our language and plan for the future.

The Akkademja tal-Malti also showed its appreciation towards Education minister Evarist Bartolo, who recently expressed full confidence in the work carried out by the Council for the Maltese Language.

"These words of support were sustained by the fact that, in recognition of the considerable work done by the Council in the 10 years since it was established, the Minister decided to double the Council’s budget and to provide it with a new full-time position to allow it to work even more effectively and to put across its message to the public," the statement reads.

As  Bartolo said, those who speculated that the Minister was not satisfied with the Council and that he would disband it now have an unambiguous answer.

The Akkademja took part in the consultation process initiated by the Minister, and held a meeting with the Council in which it promised its full backing.
