32 people, all Maltese, charged with prostitution this year

32 people arraigned in court on charges of loitering for prostitution in Gzira, Marsa, Msida or Ta' Xbiex

32 people, all of whom were Maltese, were charged in court with loitering for prostitution between January and September this year, home affairs minister Carmelo Abela revealed.

In response to a parliamentary question by Labour backbencher Silvio Parnis, Balea said that the 32 accused prostitutes were in total charged 118 times. All of them were found allegedly loitering in either Gzira, Marsa, Msida or Ta’ Xbiex.

50 people were charged with loitering for prostitution in 2014, while 66 people faced such charges in 2013.
