In the Press: Traffic gridlock expected during Valletta summit

Traffic gridlock is expected next week as several roads will be closed off and turned into tow zones during the Valletta Summit on Migration. Sources involved in the traffic management of the high profile event said that arterial routes between the airport, Valletta and St Julian’s would be off limits during unspecified periods next Tuesday and Wednesday.

A 42-year-old English workman suffered severe injuries when he fell off the Valletta bastions while installing security cameras there.

The Nationalist Party called on the government to take note of the European Commission’s recent economic warning signs on high government expenditure and a declining manufacturing industry.

Nizar El-Gadi was sentenced to life imprisonment after a jury found him guilty of murdering his former wife Margaret Mifsud in 2012. Judge Antonio Mizzi also imposed an additional punishment of 10 days’ solitary confinement to be served five times a year.
