358 unlicensed foreigners found working this year

Employment minister Evarist Bartolo says 101 EU nationals listed on unemployment registry as of the end of September

The Employment and Training Corporation uncovered 358 unlicensed non-EU nationals working in Malta following a series of inspections carried out between January and September.

The information was revealed in Parliament by employment minister Evarist Bartolo in response to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici.

In response to separate PQs by Mifsud Bonnici, Bartolo said that 101 non-Maltese EU nationals, including dependants of EU nationals, were registered on the ETC's unemployment registry as of the end of September. This is a decline from the 133 people registered as of December 2014.
