Public consultation launched on improving safety in Paceville
Accident that could have cost lives sparks government initiative to recieve suggestions from the general public on health and safety standards in Paceville
The home affairs ministry has launched a public consultation calling for contributions on the state of security and safety at Paceville, in the wake of the grave incident in a club where its glass-paned banister gave way in a stampede by patrons. Many were gravely injured and had to be operated on in hospital
The public consultation will publish all suggestions, and it will deal with legislative amendments, enforcement, and training of security officers in clubs.
“Government is committed to strengthen security and order in Paceville. After years witnessing the transition of Paceville from a residential area, to a place of entertainment, this has brought new social and health and safety challenges that must be addressed,” minister Carmelo Abela said in a statement.
