Boy critical after hitting wall with head instead of ball
A seven year old boy from Ghajnsielem, Gozo is in a critical condition after smashing his head against a wall instead of heading a ball during a game.
The accident happened in Ghajnsielem yesterday, when the boy was playing football with his friends at school.
The boy reportedly tried to head the ball, missed it and went straight into the wall.
He was instantly knocked unconscious and had to be hospitalised.
His condition was declared as critical and was flown over by helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Therapy Unit.
While a magisterial inquiry is underway, police investigations are ongoing.
