ARMS managers get bonus for 2009

Management at ARMS Ltd are to get a bonus for performance until December 2009, though no bonuses have so far been issued for the year 2010, which was characterised by numerous customer complaints.

The Times reported that the bonuses were issued by the Ministry of Finance for the performance of ARMS management for the year ending 2009 related to the implementation of the project to integrate the various business systems before ARMS was operational to the public.

A ministry spokesperson would not reveal how much was issued in bonuses but assured that bonuses for 2010 would not be given until assessment in 2011.

ARMS began issuing bills to the public on 1 January 2010 and came under heavy complaints during 2010 as a result of wrongly issued bills, no bills at all, long queues at the Luqa help centre and unanswered telephone and email inquiries.

The issue was raised in Parliament on Monday by Labour leader Joseph Muscat.
