Gait lab to be set up at Mater Dei

Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Chris Fearne announced the setting up of a gait lab at Mater Dei Hospital in the coming weeks.

Replying to parliamentary questions by Godfrey Farrugia, Fearne said that a gait facility would help in the treatment of children suffering from neuro-musuclar problems. He explained that presently, some patients are being sent abroad to conduct tests.

Set up in collaboration with the University of Malta, the gait lab will also include a ‘sensory floor’.

Six residents living at the YPU section in Mount Carmel

At the moment, there are six residents who are living in the Youth Residence section (YPU) at Mount Carmel Hospital.

Health and Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi said this in Parliament when replying to a Parliamentary question by government MP Anthony Agius Decelis.
