Mark Grech elected new MZPN president
PN youth wing elect new president and executive committee, aim at making opposition the natural choice for young voters
The Nationalist Party’s youth wing, MZPN, have elected Mark Grech as president as its general meeting, entitled “Making Change Happen – The Next Step”, came to an end.
In his inaugural speech, Grech said MZPN’s main aim is that of once again making the Nationalist Party the natural choice for young people, “by putting young people at the centre of its politics.”
“We believe in a brand of politics which sees young people succeed and where everyone is given equal opportunities, beyond the politics of the present which put personal gain above everything else,” he added.
Apart from Grech, MZPN’s new executive is made up of Nicky Azzopardi, Joseph Grech, Francesca Zammit, Darren Carabott, Veronica Perici Calscione, Armando D’Amico, Clint Camilleri, Kimberly Lowell, James Cassar, Jamie Vella, Christina Bonett, Mario Frendo, Hubert Zammit, Jeremy Cardona and Karl Buttigieg.
More than half the members contested for the first time and the executive’s terms will last till the 2017/18 general election.
