In the Press: Dean slams magisterial nominations as a ‘double gaffe’

The dean of the Faculty of Laws, Kevin Aquilina, has hit out at the recent nominations of two magistrates as a “double constitutional gaffe”. Aquilina said that the controversy did not need to be referred to the Commission for the Administration of Justice for advice because the Constitution was “crystal” clear on the matter.

Alessandro Cristina, the son of former minister Dolores Cristina, lost a libel case against the GWU-owned newspaper after a court ruled that the suspension of EU educational programmes was “an embarrassing situation” for Malta.
