[MAP] New route map for public transport users launched
Service provider says new map can help passengers plan their journeys
A new route map has been launched today by Malta Public Transport to help passengers plan their journeys using the public transport network.
This map has been developed by Freytag & Berndt, an Austrian market leader in cartography, the MPT said.
The new map shows all the routes serving Malta and Gozo as well as the main stops, interchanges and terminals.
The routes are colour-coded with the same colours used on the bus stops and on other media such as Google Maps.
“This makes it easier for our passengers to use the map and to find information regarding the new timesheets which have just been installed on all bus stops,” the service provider said.
The map may be downloaded from the MPT website and printed off at customers’ convenience.
A copy of the map may also be collected from any one of the company’s Sales and Information Offices in Valletta, Bugibba, Mater Dei Hospital, Malta International Airport, Sliema Ferries and Victoria.
In addition, Malta Public Transport has also started testing close to 100 displays installed in several main bus stops, interchanges and terminals across Malta and Gozo.
These displays show real-time information regarding all approaching buses stopping at the stage.
More information about the map and about the real-time displays may be obtained by calling 2122 2000 or by sending an email to [email protected].
