‘Muscat and Mizzi trying to dupe the population’ - AD
Alternattiva Demokratika warn that Commissioner of Inland Revenue unable to carry out any tax audit on energy minister's offshore company registered in Panama
Alternattiva Demokratika has accused Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and energy minister Konrad Mizzi of “trying to dupe the population” through the latter’s announcement that he will close down an offshore company he had registered in Panama.
“It is disgraceful and an insult to all Maltese that Mizzi continues trying to dupe the whole population when we all know that the Commissioner of Inland Revenue cannot do any tax audit in Panama,” AD chairperson Arnold Cassola said in a statement. “Minister Mizzi must learn to treat citizens with respect.
"As for the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, until a few hours ago he has insisted it was no problem to have a company in Panama. Now that
he has realized that he has really put his foot in it, he should take the honourable way out".
