PN files complaint against PBS over Mizzi interview
Nationalist Party complains to state broadcaster over not being represented during an interview with Konrad Mizzi on Dissett.
The Nationalist Party has filed a complaint to PBS head of news Reno Bugeja over not being represented in his interview with health and energy minister Konrad Mizzi on Wednesday’s edition of Dissett.
“We understand that the state broadcaster should invite politicians who are recently elected to high positions to one and one interviews to discuss their plans for the party,” Opposition MP Clyde Puli said in a statement. “However, Konrad Mizzi’s plans for his new role as PL deputy leader only took up a small segment of the programme, while the rest focused on his role in Panamagate, the greatest political scandal that Malta has ever seen.
Reno Bugeja's interview with Mizzi had also featured video clips of former PN official Frank Psaila - who anchors Newsfeed on Net TV - and Alternattiva Demokratika chairperson Carmel Cacopardo, who gave their opinions on Panamagate.
“In the programme, Mizzi attacked the Opposition, who wasn’t given a chance to respond to his accusation. Moreover, the Panamagate scandal is politically controversial, meaning that the PN should have send a representative to discuss it with Mizzi.”
He therefore called on Bugeja to interview a PN official about Panamagate on the next edition of Dissett.
