Seaman taken to Mater Dei hospital for medical assistance after being rescued at sea by AFM

Following the distress call, RCC Malta immediately dispatched an Alouette III helicopter and a Melita Search and Rescue (SAR) Boat after one person was reported to have gone overboard in inclement weather conditions.

Shortly before the AFM assets arrived on scene, the casualty was rescued by a nearby vessel. Upon arrival of the AFM SAR assets, the casualty was transferred to the Melita SAR boat via the Alouette III helicopter. The person was taken to Mater Dei hospital for further medical assistance.
