MaltaToday reports that the Attorney General has been asked to carry out an initial review into whether a revocation of the presidential pardon given to oil trader George Farrugia is possible after an appeals’ court this week confirmed the acquittal of Ray Ferris, a former Enemalta official who had been accused of Farrugia of having solicited a €40,000 bribe.

On the frontpage, the newspaper also reveals that Toni Abela is expected not to press ahead with a vote in the European Parliament on his nomination fro the European Court of Auditors.

Sunday newspaper Illum says the Labour Party is expected to intensify its attacks on PN deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami, with the latter’s close links with big contractors expected to be the main target. The newspaper also reports that 16 sites across Malta are earmarked for social housing.

The Sunday Times of Malta reports that the police are investigating an allegation that a Pakistani living in Malta is conning individuals out of thousands of euros by claiming eh can help them bring their families to Malta. In another story, the newspaper quotes outgoing Ombudsman Joseph Said Pullicino in saying that the Prime Minister had failed to order a review of an irregular development permit issued to Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg.

The Malta Independent on Sunday says Konrad Mizzi’s Panama company was transferred to a New Zealand trust on the same day that Gasol sold its shares in the Electrogas Delimara power station consortium.

It-Torca says a 2006 MEPA rationalisation exercise and ‘recommendations by the PN headquarters’ made several people millionaires – including Beppe Fenech Adami - as development was allowed in previously ODZ areas.

PN news organ il-mument says health and energy minister Konrad Mizzi is embroiled in a new scandal as he is still hiding a contract the government signed with healthcare firm Vitalis, which has a link to investors in the British Virgin Islands.

Labour newspaper Kullhadd says Beppe Fenech Adami is guilty of breaching the law, according to MEPA. It says that PN deputy leader’s pool deck is illegal as it is much bigger than the authority’s guidelines.
