UHM insists on recruitment of government clerks

Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) has appealed to the Auditor General and the Public Administration Human Resources Office to recruit new government clerks in the public sector.

The UHM is insisting that the administration is failing to fill vacancies that have arisen for government clerks in various government departments for a number of months.

The UHM said that people recently qualified for the posts have not been employed despite there being a large number of post available.

The UHM expressed serious concern of public expenditure as government is using private contractor to employ clerks instead of using people directly employed in the public service. "Though the contractor is paid more than a clerk employed in public service, the clerks doing the work are being paid a lower wage. The UHM insists that the vacant posts be filled by qualified candidates that have passed the selection process and are awaiting employment."
