Three patients escape from Mount Carmel

Three Mount Carmel patients escaped from the hospital on Friday night though one of them has since returned, the Department of Information said.

The three patients had voluntarily requested to be given treatment in a section of the hospital where those with mental issued and drug problems are treated.

The police were informed about the situation and started an investigation, while an internal board was set up to investigate the case.

One of the three patients returned to the hospital during the day.

Patients receiving treatment at Mount Carmel, even those who do so voluntarily, need a doctor’s certificate to be discharged.
