A new childcare centre – Magic Steps – that will offer its services for free was inaugurated at the Xewkija Industrial Estate today.

Free childcare will be available for children up to three years of age, and its programmes will include game-based learning, singing sessions, crafts, and other recreational and educational activities.

Gozo minister Anton Refalo said that this initiative will allow several Gozitan women to find a job and that families will be able to save up to €5,000 in childcare costs per child.

“Malta is the only European country that offers free childcare, and this service will allow Gozitans to balance their work and family lives.”
