MDA discusses staggering new tariffs with MEPA

Malta Developers Association discussed a number of mutual interest issues with MEPA among them the possibility of staggering payment of new tariffs structure.

The meeting, consisting of a delegation from the Malta Developers Assiciation (MDA) led by president Michael Falzon and MEPA directors including chairman Austin Walker, was held on Monday, to discuss numerous issues including the staggering of payments of the new tariff structure, avoiding of uncertainties within MEPA policies and ensuring consistency in the resolution of development applications.

New tariffs include planning fees for a medium sized apartment to increase by 54%, the planning fees for an average sized villa to increase by 90% and the planning fees for a penthouse to increase by a hefty 177% according to MEPA sources.

Further meetings to discuss specific issues will be held in the future.
