Front wants Muscat to oppose ODZ developments
Front Harsien ODZ questions Joseph Muscat’s position on ODZ development proposals
Front Harsien ODZ has called on Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to state his position on the use of outside development zones land for the construction of the American University of Malta, an elderly home and a race track, amongst others.
Addressing Worker’s Day mass meeting, Muscat said no ODZ land will be taken up for development during the next two years and no new projects will be considered, whilst more open spaces will be developed.
"Joseph Muscat said that no ODZ will be taken up for development in Malta. Front Harsien ODZ therefore asks the Prime Minister if he is opposing the development of Sadeen's institute on ODZ land in Zonqor, if he is opposing the ODZ proposal of an old people's home in Wied Ghomor, which will be decided upon this Thursday by the Planning Authority, and if he opposes the development of a racetrack on ODZ land,” the Front said.
“Furthermore, we expect Joseph Muscat to stay true to his word and declare his Government's opposition to other similar ODZ development proposals and policy arrangements.”
Works on the AUM Cospicua campus is starting this week.
