Labour say DOI statement on PAC hearing ‘misleading’

In a statement, the PL said that the DOI had been “politically directed to publish a misleading statement” on the PAC hearing.

“It gave only one aspect of what the Auditor General told the PAC which is not only castrated by the Speaker’s rulings, but is also manipulated by government propaganda.

“Lawrence Gonzi’s intention is to manipulate what the Auditor-General said and give an erroneous picture of the mess inside the BWSC contract.”

Labour also said that PBS had not fully reported the declarations of the Auditor in its news bulletin, adding that the Auditor found “smoke” but did not have the “tools” to investigate.
