After agreeing to dismantle tower, Polidano group starts landscaping project
Polidano group starts dismantling tower and also starts landscaping project

Charles Polidano, the construction magnate whose Montekristo estate in Safi is riddled with planning illegalities, has started to landscape an area covering over 10,000 sqm.
Soil is currently being delivered in the area, which is calculated to take approximately 15,000 tons of soil, with the aim of planting over 4,000 trees.
The Polidano group added that it has also started to dismantle the so called ‘Falcon Tower’, a replica of the 17th-century De Redin tower with the second floor being currently dismantled.
The dismantling is taking place on instructions received by the Planning Authority, with whom Polidano is in negotiations to settle outstanding illegalities on his Montekristo estate.
The estate serves as a conference centre but also hosts an illegal zoo that was recently closed down after a wild cat lashed out at a child – the second incident that finally led to the zoo’s shuttering.
Last week, the group also said that it had started clearing up the area next to the Poligas plant in Hal Farrug.
The illegal development was subject to a direct action by MEPA back in 2013 and was sealed off with concrete blocks.
