PN wants policeman off Parliament duty over Facebook comments

PN whip says that a police officer assigned to parliament had written a disparaging Facebook comment against Opposition MP Claudette Buttigieg

Opposition whip David Agius called for one of the police officers in charge of Parliament security to be transferred elsewhere.

Speaking in Parliament, Agius told Speaker Anglu Farrugia that police sergeant Eugenio Caruana had written disparaging comments on Facebook against Opposition MP Claudette Buttigieg.

“We don’t believe this is correct behaviour from somebody who should protect MPs, and we request him to be detailed elsewhere,” he said.

Farrugia said that he will look into the case.

A quick Facebook search doesn't reveal any results for the name 'Eugenio Caruana'.
