Government, doctors to work on new consultants recruitment plan

The Medical Association of Malta (MAM) and the Ministry for Health will be meeting on a technical level to work on a recruitment plan for new consultant posts at Mater Dei Hospital later on this week and to discuss pending issues and address patients’ service needs. 

In a statement, the health ministry said that MAM and the government have a shared interest to consolidate the current efforts to decrease waiting lists in the surgical, medical specialities and imaging departments and to work on a structured plan to extend these results across the whole of Mater Dei.
