The Polidano group has continued with its project to dismantle the so-called Falcon Tower at its Safi Montekristo estate.
The tower, a replica of the 17th-century De Redin tower, was ordered to be dismantled by the Planning Authority.
The authority is currently settling a number of illegalities in the estate, with the Polidano group also starting a landscaping project on an area covering over 10,000 sqm.
The estate serves as a conference centre but also hosts an illegal zoo that was recently closed down after a wild cat lashed out at a child – the second incident that finally led to the zoo’s shuttering.
Last week, the group also said that it had started clearing up the area next to the Poligas plant in Hal Farrug.
The illegal development was subject to a direct action by MEPA back in 2013 and was sealed off with concrete blocks.
