MEPA board approves outline of Buskett aparthotel redevelopment

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) Board approved an outline development permit for the redevelopment of the Buskett Forest Aparthotel in limits of Buskett known as Ta’ Sabbat.

The proposed redevelopment of the dilapidated building, constructed in the early 70’s, is expected to be smaller, with restrictions keeping the applicant from extended beyond the existing built up area.

The same applicant also cannot have multi-ownership and must maintain the existing height limitation.

The application, which falls outside the Natura 2000 and bird sanctuary boundaries, was assessed by the Environment Protection Directorate in terms of the EU Habitats Directive and the EIA Regulations.
