Tremor registered off Malta

A tremor was registered late yesterday afternoon between Malta and Lampedusa.

The 3.6 grade tremor was registered at approximately 80 kilometers South West of Malta, however it was not felt on land.

According to the Italian Institute of Vulcanology the epicentre of the tremor was right between the islands of Malta and Lampedusa at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Meanwhile, further tremors are continuing to be registered around Catania, as vulcanologists monitor the Etna.

An increased charge of energy has been noted yesterday within the volcano, and a minor eruption was registered in the main crater.
