16 homicide cases in Malta over two years
Investigation in 10 cases of homicides still underway
A total of 16 cases of homicide were registered in Malta between January 2013 and December 2015, information tabled in parliament reveals.
In reply to a question raised by backbencher Anthony Agius Decelis, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said that six cases have been solved by the police whilst 10 others remain under investigation.
In a separate question raised by PN MP Censu Galea, the minister said that between May 2015 and April 2016, a total of 921 cases of injury were reported to the police. This resulted in 1,076 persons being registered as a victim. A further 628 cases of domestic violence, involving 688 persons, were also reported.
