75 per cent of Maltese public think that service worse under ARMS Ltd

Almost three quarters of the Maltese public say that the utility billing system took a turn for the worse since ARMS Ltd took over.

According to a study published in the Illum weekly newspaper conducted among 300 individuals, as many as one in five said they lodged a complaint over a bill they received.

The study also found that only 5 per cent feel that any improvement was made since the responsibility of calculating and issuing bills was transferred from the Water Services Corporation to the newly-established ARMS Ltd.

As many as 22 per cent also said that the bills they received contained mistakes.

The study also highlights how the dissatisfaction by ARMS Ltd’s performance is spreading even among Nationalist voters (i.e. those declaring that they voted for the Nationalist Party in the 2008 election).

While 90 per cent of Labour voters say that the service under ARMS Ltd took a turn for the worse, while as many as 60 per cent of Nationalist voters said the same.

Even among the latter, only 10 per cent said they felt the establishment of the company led to a perceptible improvement.
