Gozo Channel livestock transportation problem still unsolved, four years later

Gozo ferry commuters still have to endure trips back and forth across the channel in close proximity with trucks loaded with chickens and pigs.

 

Weekly newspaper Illum reports complaints by readers who spoke about the “uncomfortable” situation of having to travel alongside trucks overflowing with fowl or other animals.

“The stink is unbearable,” one reader complained. Another remarked the sight is reminiscent of a “third world country”.
