MUMN withdraws directives at Mater Dei, Mount Carmel hospitals
Agreement reached between Health Ministry and the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses
The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has withdrawn its directives at Mater Dei Hospital and Mount Carmel Hospital following an agreement reached with Health Minister Chris Fearne.
The MUMN today wrote to the ministry’s permanent secretary, informing him of its decision to withdraw directives launched earlier this week.
In a statement, the ministry said the MUMN had expressed satisfaction over the replies provided by the health department and the management of the two hospitals.
Earlier this week, the MUMN objected to disciplinary actions being taken against nurses and lamented of shortage of staff at Mount Carmel Hospital.
